The project aims to improve the climate resilience of the Recipient’s secondary road network, and in case of an Eligible Crisis or Emergency, respond promptly and effectively to it. The project will use soil bioengineering and biotechnical stabilization techniques to stabilize slopes and increase the resilience of the road network. 


 

Enhancing the Climate Resilience of the West Coast Road

The objective of the Enhancing the Climate Resilience of the West Coast Road (WCR) Project for Samoa was to: (i) improve the climate resilience of the West Coast Road; and (ii) enhance local capacity to develop a more climate resilient road network. There were three components to the project, the first component being Improving Climate Resilience of the WCR. This component implemented measures to strengthen the climate resilience of the economically critical WCR, which is a key Government of Samoa (GoS) objective under the Strategic Program for Climate Resilience (SPCR).

To improve the connectivity, resilience, and management of key infrastructure to enhance access to social and economic opportunities for rural communities and to support international trade and logistics. The project will deploy NBS to enhance climate resilience of road infrastructure. Tree and grass planting for roadway protection and slope stabilization will be used to protect the road and its drainage system.

Buenos Aires – Mitre Passenger Railway Line Modernization Project

The Project Development Objectives (PDO) of the Argentina Buenos Aires – Mitre Passenger Railway Line Modernization Project are to: (a) improve the reliability and safety of the Mitre Line; and (b) increase accessibility in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires.
