The project will promote community-led nature-based solutions to climate change adaptation in the Usangu catchment by financing rainwater harvesting and storage facilities, boreholes, rehabilitation of small check/charco dams to reduce channel erosion and gullying, river training to enhance flows and reduce flooding, tree planting for catchment conservation, and village land use plans for sustainable landscape management.

A GEF-financed regional IPF that strengthens preparedness of governments and the private sector in Georgia, Moldova, Türkiye, and Ukraine to reduce pollution in the Black Sea. The project delivers national policy/legal assessments and harmonization recommendations; prepares investment recommendations and pre-feasibility analyses for high-impact depollution projects; runs eco-innovation challenges and grants to pilot private-sector solutions; and supports regional knowledge sharing and dialogue. 

The project will support the Government of the Dominican Republic to reduce pollution and strengthen institutional and financing capacity for natural resource protection through a Development Policy Financing operation focused on policy and regulatory reforms for sustainable development

The project will strengthen Colombia’s program to manage risks from climate, disaster, and public health shocks by improving access to financial instruments (e.g., contingent credit, parametric insurance) and advancing resilience and climate adaptation policies across sectors and at subnational levels.

The project improves access to local services and strengthens local government capacity across intermediate cities in Mauritania. Components relevant to nature-based and green infrastructure include rehabilitation and creation of infiltration ponds, rehabilitation of wetlands, establishment of green and blue corridors, and complementary works such as cleaning and dredging of stormwater drainage and rehabilitation of pumping stations in Kaédi and Rosso

The development objective of the Forest Sector Modernization and Coastal Resilience Enhancement Project for Vietnam was to improve coastal forest management in the Project Provinces. The project had three technical components in addition to a fourth component on project management, monitoring, and evaluation. The first component modernized the technical know how and approaches used for planning, supplying seedlings, and financing coastal protection forest management and planting.

The Senegal River Basin Multi-Purpose Water Resources Development (MWRD2) Project was the second phase of a 10-year program designed to enhance regional integration among the countries of the Senegal River Basin for multi-purpose water resources development, to foster improved community livelihoods. The MWRD2 Project Development Objective was to improve coordinated management of water resources for socially, environmentally and economically sustainable development in the Senegal River Basin.

The objective of the Volcanoes Community Resilience Project for Rwanda is to reduce the risk of flooding, strengthen watershed management, and improve livelihoods of people in the project area. There are five components to the project, the first component being flood risk management. This component seeks to reduce flood risks in the Volcano and Vunga corridor by implementing comprehensive flood risk reduction interventions and by improving flood early warning systems (FEWS) and community-level flood preparedness.

The development objective is to establish policy foundations to foster low-emission and sustainable economic growth and climate change resilience. The DPL will support reforms to enhance climate planning and governance, including those that promote plans and programs to restore terrestrial and marine areas to provide protection from storm surges.

The development objective of Sustainable Oasis Ecosystems Management Project for Morocco is to strengthen the sustainable oasis ecosystems management for climate resilience in Aoufouss and Akka Oasis and develop a national standard for integrated oasis management. This project has three components.
