The objective of the Disaster Risk Management and Urban Development Project for the Republic of Niger is to improve the country's resilience to natural hazards.
The objective of the project “Natural Resource Management in a Changing Climate in Mali” is to expand the adoption of sustainable land and water management (SLWM) practices in climate vulnerable targeted communes in Mali. The Government of Mali aims to achieve this through the implementation of capacity building, biodiversity conservation, and support to poverty reduction activities applying an ecosystem-based adaptation approach. This approach will enable project beneficiaries in 14 communities across three provinces to adapt to climate change and ultimately to increase their resilience.
The project uses greening and bio-engineering approaches to restoring roads and making them climate resilient
The objective of the Government of Myanmar’s Flood and Landslide Emergency Recovery Project is to support the recovery in priority areas affected by the 2015 floods and landslides and to provide immediate and effective response in potential future eligible crises. The project components will include the climate-resilient rehabilitation of national and rural roads and the provision of eligible goods.
The project's objective is to support the Government of Sri Lanka in reducing the flooding in the catchment of the Colombo Water Basin, and strengthen the capacity of local authorities in the Colombo Metropolitan Area to rehabilitate, improve and maintain local infrastructure and services through selected demonstration investments. The project protected and provided some restoration to the city wetlands as a nature-based solution, allowing them to serve as flood rentention and recreational areas.
The project objectives are to enhance tools for climate-smart planning and improve climate resilience of land and water management practices in selected provinces of the Mekong Delta in Vietnam.
The project will fill critical infrastructure gaps in the Integrated Transport Network Development Plan (“ITNDP”) demonstrating use of innovative, climate-informed, safe, and nature-based solutions. It will also invest in innovative, climate resilient, nature-based design and construction solutions for roads and bridges, least-cost-engineering solutions for local infrastructure.
The project will dekiver road rehabilitation and new road works and pavements using weather resistant paving material to withstand extreme weather events, introducing the use of green and nature-based infrastructure to mitigate floods and, when necessary, constructing wider drains and culverts to accommodate heavy precipitation, undertaking slope stabilization to protect against climate risks.
The objective of the project designed by the Government of Belize was to implement priority ecosystem-based marine conservation and climate adaptation measures to strengthen the climate resilience of the Belize Barrier Reef System.
