The Karnataka Water Security and Resilience Program (P506272) is a World Bank-financed initiative designed to improve water security, climate resilience, and disaster risk management in India's technology hub of Bengaluru and the wider Karnataka region. Bengaluru's rapid, unplanned urban expansion has led to severe climate vulnerabilities. The program targets five main systemic challenges:

The objective of the Sustainable Cities and Land Project for Cameroon is to improve access to climate-resilient infrastructure and enhance land administration services in targeted urban areas in Cameroon. The project adopts a multi-sectoral approach to invest in urban development and land administration while adapting to the challenges of climate change. The integrated project invests mainly in climate-resilient infrastructure and land administration services. The project consists of four integrated components.

The operation supported integrated urban regeneration, mobility, and flood risk management in selected counties of Ningbo Municipality (Xiangshan, Ninghai, Fenghua).

The project will improve the climate resilience and operational efficiency of Ukraine’s national road network by financing routine and periodic preservation works, emergency modular bridges, and border-crossing point infrastructure and equipment, alongside technical assistance and project management. Physical investments include maintenance and repairs to state roads and bridges across government‑controlled oblasts—embedding drainage, road safety, and climate‑resilient practices—and installation of modular bridges to restore connectivity.

The project will restore access to essential municipal and health services and resilient rural housing in provinces affected by the February 2023 earthquakes. It finances rehabilitation and reconstruction of municipal water, sanitation, stormwater drainage, and associated infrastructure; restoration and equipping of essential health services (including prefabricated facilities, mobile primary care and diagnostics, and disability services); and resilient, energy‑efficient rural housing and village infrastructure, plus project management and Hands‑on Expanded Implementation Support.

This Development Policy Financing with a Catastrophe Deferred Drawdown Option (Cat DDO) supports Romania to strengthen inclusive multi‑hazard preparedness and response and advance disaster risk reduction and climate action.

The project will improve connectivity, climate resilience, and safety of selected roads in Mindanao by: (i) upgrading three local “link roads” to national standards with climate‑resilient and road safety measures; (ii) rehabilitating and enhancing priority sections of the Cagayan de Oro–Davao–General Santos (CDO–Davao–GenSan) corridor, and introducing output/performance‑based maintenance; (iii) strengthening asset management, institutional capacity, and road safety; and (iv) enabling rapid response through a Contingent Emergency Response Component.

This Development Policy Financing with a Catastrophe Deferred-Drawdown Option (Cat DDO) strengthens the Government of the Philippines’ capacity to manage disaster and climate risks across education, human settlements, and health systems. Policy actions integrate risk‑informed and evidence‑based resilience measures in school infrastructure planning and emergency preparedness; mainstream resilience in land use planning, urban design strategies, and establishment of green/open spaces; and embed resilience standards in the construction of health facilities.

The Multiphase Programmatic Approach (MPA) Phase 1 will modernize Lima’s traffic management and support sustainable, green, and inclusive urban mobility. It finances expansion and centralization of the traffic lights system, an automated traffic violation detection and control system, safer intersections and traffic‑calming zones, and improved connectivity for non‑motorized transport (cycling and walking), plus project management and capacity building.

The project develops high-quality designs for a green, resilient, and inclusive waterfront park in Downtown Kingston, alongside urban upgrading and institutional capacity building to catalyze private sector-led redevelopment. SOP 1 finances conceptual and detailed designs, baseline and planning studies, MSME mapping and economic activation, and advisory services (including a City/Business Improvement District model), with climate‑smart and universal design principles embedded and a CERC for shocks.
