Upcoming Events
UR Abu Dhabi has been moved to May 10-14, 2027. For the first time, UR will take place in the Middle East region in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Other than rescheduling the dates, all event logistics remain the same. The Forum will take place at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi as planned. Registration and Call for Proposals remain open, with new deadlines for submissions.
Past Events
On April 20, the GPNBS team participated in a webinar series that explored the interface between trees, urban environments, and sustainable future cities. The event was part of the World Bank’s flagship RESILAND CA+ Regional Landscape Restoration Program that aims to reverse land degradation and increase resilience to climate change in Central Asia.
On March 23, 2023, the New York Water House was abuzz with excitement as EcoShape and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO-TIO) hosted "Showcasing the Power of Nature-Based Solutions", a side event at the UN Water Conference and part of the New York Water Week.
The World Bank Tokyo Development Learning Center (TDLC), co-organized by the GFDRR’s Tokyo DRM Hub, in collaboration with the Global Program on Nature-Based Solutions for Climate Resilience (GPNBS), is organizing an in-person Technical Deep Dive (TDD) on Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) for Climate Resilience from February 20 to 24, 20
From March 6 to 9, 2023, GFDRR's City Resilience Program held a workshop with five cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina to identify and prioritize capital investment projects which integrate resilient and green urban development into the delivery of strategic urban infrastructure. Local and international experts, representatives of municipal and city authorities, and officials working on a range of disciplines gathered in Sarajevo to discuss pathways to resilient and green development.
On November 30, GPNBS hosted a technical session on NBS for flood resilience together with JBA consulting. The panel was part of the five-day risk forum in Brazil, which focused on climate and disaster risks in a multi-hazard world.
